Caught the ferry across to the island of Burano, a fishing village with brightly coloured houses. All the houses are painted in vivid colours.
Highly coloured, traditionally to distinguish the families who live there. Even today residents cannot change a colour of a particular house without permission from the local Government who will advise what colours may be used.
Also known as the Island of Lace, there are many shops selling beautiful linen products for the home and exquisite fashions and made in Italy.
Good to hear from you Ingrid. No doubt you are having a wonderful time. Love Glenda

We didn’t have time to visit Burano – but it looks fascinating. Thanks for taking me there today 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your travels 🙂
Yes it’s wonderful Jo – an artists dream … I’ll try to do more blogs over the weekend if and when I get the opportunity …
